Tips for Improving Automated Transcription Accuracy

Automated transcription works best when speech is clear and the recording is easy to understand. You do not need a studio setup, but a few practical habits can reduce errors and make the final transcript easier to edit.

Record close to the speaker

A microphone near the speaker usually performs better than a microphone across the room. If you are recording a meeting, place the device near the main speakers and avoid covering the microphone.

Reduce background noise

Fans, traffic, music, keyboard typing, and room echo can make speech harder to recognize. Choose a quieter room when possible and pause background audio before recording.

Avoid overlapping speech

When multiple people talk at the same time, transcription quality drops. For interviews and meetings, ask participants to speak one at a time and repeat important terms clearly.

Choose the right language option

Automatic detection works well for many files, but selecting the known language can help when the recording is short or contains mixed audio. AAAI Tools currently offers automatic detection plus Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean options.

Review names and specialized terms

Product names, personal names, acronyms, and technical vocabulary are common sources of errors. Keep a list of important terms and review them after downloading the transcript.
